Marangu Route, also known as the Coca-Cola Route, is the most affordable and only route with hut accommodations, making it a comfortable and popular choice for climbers. With solar-lit communal huts, comfortable beds, and designated dining areas, this route offers a structured yet scenic trek to the Roof of Africa in just 5 days.

                                         The Marangu Route, also known as the "Coca-Cola Route," is the most affordable way to reach the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, making it ideal for budget-conscious adventurers.
 Unlike other routes, the Marangu Route offers the comfort of sleeping huts at every campsite, equipped with solar lights and comfortable beds, ensuring a restful experience after each trek.
 The communal huts feature bunk beds with sponge mattresses and pillows, creating a cozy and shared atmosphere, ideal for meeting fellow trekkers from around the world.
 Accommodation includes 60 beds at Mandara and Kibo Huts, and 120 beds at Horombo Hut, providing ample space for climbers to relax and socialize.
 Enjoy the convenience of bathrooms and running water at the two lower huts, though basic latrines are available at the last camp.
 The Marangu Route is famous for its lively and jovial atmosphere, where climbers from multiple countries share meals in dining huts, enhancing the sense of community.
 While the trek is typically completed in 5 days, you have the option to extend it to 6 days for better acclimatization, with the extra day spent resting at Horombo or exploring the Mawenzi Peak.

                                    

Itinerary

If you've chosen the optional airport transfers, our team will arrange to pick you up either from Kilimanjaro Airport or Arusha Airport and transfer you to your hotel in Moshi.

Once you've settled in, we'll schedule a pre-trek briefing at your hotel in Moshi. It's recommended to arrive at least one day before the trek begins to ensure you're well-rested and prepared. During the briefing, we'll discuss the itinerary in detail, review your equipment, and provide any necessary rentals to ensure you have everything needed for a successful trek.

Begin your journey with a scenic drive to the Kilimanjaro National Park gate in Marangu. As you trek through the lush rainforest, enjoy the sights and sounds of diverse wildlife. Reach Mandara Hut at 2,700 meters, surrounded by towering trees and stunning vistas.

Ascend through lush heathlands and alpine meadows as you make your way to Horombo Hut at 3,700 meters. This is a longer day of trekking, with panoramic views of Kilimanjaro's vast landscape along the way.

Your summit day begins with a midnight ascent to Uhuru Peak. The climb will take 6-8 hours, but the reward is an unforgettable sunrise and panoramic views from Africa's highest point at 5,895 meters. After reaching the summit, you will descend to Kibo Hut, and then continue down to Horombo Hut to rest and recover.
